Every design I create begins as an original piece of art. Inspired by the extraordinary beauty, diversity and fragility of our oceans, this biodiversity design brings together marine life and ocean-inspired elements from my original artwork and transforms them into wearable art. Celebrating the incredible variety of life found beneath the surface, the design is a reminder of how interconnected and precious our ocean ecosystems are. About Janina Rossiter
My designs are inspired by the beauty, diversity, and fragility of our oceans. Some are created from my original hand-drawn illustrations, often using the stippling technique, while others feature details from my fluid, water-inspired paintings or combine both approaches. Every design is an original artwork, carefully adapted for wearable products with the hope of inspiring a deeper appreciation for our oceans and the need to protect them.

Many synthetic performance fabrics, including swimwear, release microfibres during washing. Where possible, I choose products made with recycled materials and encourage washing less frequently, using cooler cycles, and considering a microfibre-catching laundry bag or filter.
