Seagrass: Planting a Future
Planting a future means protecting habitats so that the incredible creatures depending on them can thrive.
Seagrass meadows are among the most important coastal ecosystems on our planet. They provide nursery habitats for marine life, support fisheries, help protect coastlines from storms, filter pollutants from seawater and provide habitats for species including seahorses, sea turtles and dugongs.
They are also highly sensitive to environmental change, making them important indicators of the health of our oceans.
Yet seagrass habitats around the world are disappearing. Protecting and restoring these underwater meadows means protecting an entire ecosystem and the extraordinary biodiversity within it.
The leafy sea dragon featured in this artwork represents this connection between a species and the habitat it depends upon.
Planting a Future is ultimately about exactly that: protecting ocean habitats today so that marine life has a future tomorrow.
Exhibitions
Seagrass: Planting a Future forms part of my Planet Ocean Gallery series.
Works from the series were exhibited with ChangeNOW at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris in March 2024 and as part of my exhibition at La CLEF in Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
The series supports the global 30x30 goal: protecting at least 30% of the world's ocean by 2030.

Art Is a Powerful Communication Tool
The environment and its protection are my favourite themes for my artistic statement. The fragility of our planet, and in particular that of the oceans, is the main issue that I wish to highlight through my art. Water and nature are fundamental elements in my artwork. Beyond arousing emotions, I want to make the viewer feel the need to act and commit to protecting the planet.
With each painting, each remark and each observation, my artistic approach grows, evolves and matures. The trust given to me by viewers inspires me to seek even richer and more innovative ideas. The ocean, nature and our planet are inexhaustible sources of inspiration for me and, as an artist working for the protection of our oceans and our planet, I want my message to spread around the world.
